iPod Touch Gets iOS 4.2

Hey dear iPod Touch fans! Today is a big day for you! iOS 4.2 is now availiable for iPod Touch here is the Apple press release:

CUPERTINO, California—November 22, 2010—Apple® today announced that iOS 4.2, the latest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, is available today for download for iPad™, iPhone® and iPod touch®. iOS 4.2 brings over 100 new features from iOS 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 to iPad including Multitasking, Folders, Unified Inbox, Game Center, AirPlay® and AirPrint. 

“iOS 4.2 makes the iPad a completely new product, just in time for the holiday season,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Once again, the iPad with iOS 4.2 will define the target that other tablets will aspire to, but very few, if any, will ever be able to hit.”

iPad users can now run their favorite apps and switch between them instantly, while preserving iPad’s legendary battery life. Users can organize their apps with drag-and-drop simplicity using Folders, and Mail now features a Unified Inbox, fast inbox switching and a threaded message view.

Game Center allows iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users to challenge and play friends or be matched automatically with new opponents, showcase their scores and achievements, and discover new games their friends are playing.

AirPlay is a new feature for streaming music, video and photos wirelessly from iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to Apple TV®, transforming Apple TV into a great accessory for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. iOS users also will be able to use AirPort Express® and AirPlay to stream wirelessly to any stereo or powered speakers, or directly to AirPlay-enabled speakers coming to market in the months ahead. 

AirPrint is a next-generation Wi-Fi print architecture that dramatically simplifies printing by completely eliminating printer drivers. A selection of AirPrint enabled printers including the HP Photosmart, HP LaserJet Pro and HP Officejet will be the first to support printing direct from iOS devices. iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can simply tap to print their documents or photos wirelessly to any printer that supports AirPrint. 

The Find My iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch) feature is now free to use without a MobileMe℠ subscription and helps you locate your missing device.* The Find My iPhone app is a free download on the App Store℠ and lets users easily locate a missing device on a map and have it display a message or play a sound. Users can even remotely lock or wipe data from a lost device to protect privacy.

Yo Apple Where is White iPod Touch?

There is a rumor going around that White iPod Touch might hit the market soon but still it's just a rumor. Thing is that iPhone 4 users have been waiting for White design for some time now. Few sources are reporting that Apple is still designing white iPhone 4 and the main problem seems to be the white color. Same sources are reporting that Apple did not release white iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th Generation because color of the Home Button and Front Design white color did not match.

I still like the black design more than white if you ask me but then again there is many of you that would rather have White front design than black.

How To Use FaceTime on iPod Touch 4G (4th Generation)

Now that iPod Touch 4G is out many still have issues with FaceTime. Well I wanted to write how to use Facetime on iPod Touch 4G for those that still have troubles.

Make sure you have Wi-Fi connection. If you don't have apple account you probably want to register it first, but most of you already have that so I won't go to deep into explaining how to register apple account.

Open up your Facetime (Green looking button)



Once you have Facetime up it will ask you for your apple ID which I mentioned before that you will need one. So go through that step.
Now I hope you have lots of friends with either iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4G because you will need at least one to start FaceTime.
In contacts find your friend and hit FaceTime button. Make sure that your friend has Facetime setup already otherwise you will not be able to connect with them.

iPod Touch 4th Generations Info, Pictures and Release Date

Sweet! iPod Touch 4th Generation is now out. Release date in stores is going to be next week but you can pre-order it right now on apple website.

Here is what you need to know about new iPod Touch 4:

iPod Touch will have front and back facing camera. With back camera you will be able to do 720p HD recording with up to 30fps and also take 920x720 pictures. You will also be able to take photos and videos with front facing camera but in VGA mode and 30fps (Frames Per Second).

Display is 3.5 inches diagonally long and sure enough it’s touch-screen with 960x640 pixel resolution AND Retina screen just like iPhone.

Again iPod Touch 4th Generation will look like iPhone 4 without GPS,3G and calling capability capability .

64GB $399

You will be able to use FaceTime which can be considered as “calling” but works only on Wi-Fi.

New iPod Touch (4G) 4th Generations Design

According to iLounge and their source as it looks like new iPod touch 4G (4th Generation) will be changing design this time. It should have camera but it is still unclear if it’s going to have microphone or LED flash light. If you ask me I would rather go with microphone because I am sure that “without motification” I could use iPod Touch 4G with Skype or even Facetime.

I think it would be really cool if iPod Touch would step up and be almost as iPhone but without calling features. Meaning that I could use Skype on Wi-Fi talking to my family etc..

iPod Touch 4 Coming Out With Camera

Yes as I predicted few months ago, Apple is releasing new iPod Touch Gen 4 with Camera. Basically you can take all iPhone 4 functions minus the GPS and Phone feature and that will be your new iPod Touch 4.

DigiTimes Report:

'The new iPod touch will feature a 3-megapixel camera, capable of both photo and video recording, and will adopt Apple's latest A4 processor, which is also used in the iPhone 4.''

I guess it's about time iPod Touch get's updated, right?

iPod Touch iOS4 Firmware Release Time

Hey guys just wanted to let you know today is iOS4 release date and time to upgrade your iPod Touch to latest firmware!

Unfortunately iOS4 will not be available for Generation 1 iPod Touch.

Many sources are reporting that iOS4 release time is going to be around noon today central standard time. (12pm CST or 1pm EST)

To make sure you get the latest firmware iOS4 make sure you have downloaded the latest iTunes version, plug your iPod Touch in, and hit the update/upgrade button on the right bottom screen in iTunes.

iPod Touch Does Not Remember Wi-Fi Password

Quick iPod Touch on why iPod Touch might not remember your Wi-Fi Password. Basically when you connect first time to your router via iPod Touch, your iPod Touch should remember WiFi password, but sometimes it does not. And that sometimes is when you set it to WPA-2 WPA encryption. For some reason it has problem and mostly I have noticed that with later firmware's than 3.0.

 

To fix it, just go to

Type in your WPA password, site will give you HEX characters.

Type HEX password in your iPod Touch when asked for your network login, and it should remember the password this time.

Today at WWDC I have learned that iOS4 or iPod Touch 4 Firmware will be completely free to download. But iPod Touch users that is first generation will not be able to upgrade to iOS4 (Firmware, Software).

So paying for Firmware $5 or $10 is gone!
